AirScale Capacity plug-in unit provides cell-specific baseband processing and optical interfaces to radio units.

The Nokia AirScale Capacity (ABIA) plug-in unit occupies one B-slot of a subrack with an IP class of IP20.

The following functions are integrated in the ABIA:

  • Cell-specific baseband processing
  • Optical interfaces to radio units
  • Status LEDs

Nokia AirScale System Module Indoor can consist of up to six AirScale Capacity (ABIA) units. An ABIA unit has six optical RF interfaces that support up to 6 Gbps OBSAI or 9.8 Gbps CPRI. IQ-compression is supported with three CPRI links.

ABIA weight (withouth packaging) is 2.1 kg (4.6 lb).
